The Hartford-NYC Connection
Many of our local Jazz artists have made the leap to playing in prestigious New York City venues. Some have moved there in hopes of pursuing the dream of making a steady living, and playing jazz with the greats. This show is all about that Hartford area connection to the City. We are indeed lucky to be only a couple hours train ride and cab fare to places like the Village Vanguard, Jazz Standard, Blue Note Cafe and more. There are also many jazz mentors to give these kids their big break in the jazz scene. Most importantly, we have the cats with the chops that can play and know how to swing with the best of them.

great stuff... keep it comin'...
any chance of putting the 2nd halfs on again like in the olden days of the podcast? or is it eating up too much bandwidth?
Its more a matter of my time than bandwidth. Publishing 2 podcasts is nearly twice the work. It is also a function of how I produce the show. I used to capture my 2 hour broadcast from the WHUS Internet Stream, and edit it down to 2 segments. Now I capture the show at the source (off the station's mixing board) to a CD-R player. I get a much higher quality recording to start with which improves the quality of the podcast, but I am limited to the 80 minutes of the CD-R medium.
well I thank you for what does get posted. Keep up the great jazz podcasting...
