Hot tunes for cold nights

Nothing better to warm you up on a cold winter's night than some hot jazz tunes. That is what we have for you tonight. Starting with some great Trombone work from Steve Davis and Curtis Fuller. Rahsaan Roland Kirk, kicks it with some crazed tenor sax, and Chris Potter shows off his chops with new jazz music. Check out some cool jazz by local artist Rob DeSesa Quartet, who will be performing right here next Saturday Morning on WHUS FM (more on that later).

Live at 55

This show is inspired by last evenings performance by Bob Reynolds at 55Bar in NYC. We'll hear not only from Bob, but bassist Janek Gwizdala and Oli Rockberger from their own recordings. 55Bar is a great venue in New York city that hosts some of the finest new jazz cats on the scene. You can usually find the great guitarist Mike Stern there on Monday nights when he is not on the road. Also featured on this show is Ingrid Jensen, a fine trumpeter and composer who we first discovered at this club. I also posted a couple of YouTube videos that Claire shot at last nights gig.
