Bonin'

To be honest, I never really dug the trombone as a jazz axe until recently. Some very hip podcast listeners of this program began suggesting I do a jazz trombone theme, and turned me on to some great cats like Conrad Herwig. A couple weeks ago I made mention of the idea on the air, and then I got flooded with emails with lots of ideas on who to play (e.g. Watrous, Priester, Fuller, and more). I also caught Brian Thomas, a bone player out of Boston, playing a a local jazz club, that was amazing. Put all this together, and it culminates into this program featuring the Trombone.

Support Jazz Programming

Radiothon is over. Thanks to your support for WHUS and this program, we achieved our fund raising goal.

The WHUS Radiothon in full swing, and jazz programming needs your support. There are so few venues these days that showcase new jazz artists. Jazz is almost non-existant on commercial radio. If it were not for community radio and podcasts like these, you may not have heard of artists like Bob Reynolds, Reincarnation, Greg Abate and others. Please show your support and keep this Podcast alive.
