Part 2 with Monk
This podcast is the second hour of my radio show from last week, and it is a good one. We start out with the one and only Trane from a fine album, Coltrane's Sound. We then take it beyond with George Schuller and Ed Palermo. Following that is a set featuring some great Monk composition's as interpreted by others, than Monk and Trane. We settle things down nicely with some Evan's like piano trio music by a great artist, Robert Glasper.

Hi Ken,
I look forward to listening to your Monk programme in the gym this week, but the podcast download is currently going so slowly from http://media8.podbean.com, about 10 KB/s with nothing else downloading, compared to about 200 KB/s from other sites. I hope this is just a glitch (I don't recall noticing podbean.com before).
This is the 5th week that I have used Podbean to host these files (btw, I believe they are in the UK). I too have noticed that the transfer speeds are significantly lower than the previous hosting service. Here is the backstory.
For several years I had used a couple free podcast hosting services, but eventually those closed up shop. Than I used Switchpod at $5/mo. which worked fine until a couple of months ago they merged with Libsyn. I used Libsyn ($10/mo) for a couple of weeks, but because of the size and frequency of my podcast, and their pricing structure, it would have been to expensive to continue. I considered shorter shows or lower bitrate shows to keep using Libsyn. After a couple of weeks they raised the price to $12/mo which I wasn't too happy about.
I found Podbean which was within my budget ($10/mo) and could accommodate the files as I had been posting them. But as you noticed at times the dl times are quite slow. (I just checked and I am getting about 26kbs). They are not always that slow.
So, I am appealing to any of my listeners that have access to a web server with good bandwidth that would allow me to post my podcasts to please contact me. Any help with publishing this podcast would be appreciated by me and all our listeners.
thanks,
Ken Laster
