Songs For All Fathers

It's now a tradition to play Horace Silver's Song for My Father on this particular weekend of the year. This Father's day show has an opening set dedicated to my Dad and all others out there. Cannonball's One For Daddy-O is another great track befitting this theme. It has a rare appearance of Miles Davis as a backup band member. The set ends with a funky rendition of Silver's classic. Following the Father's Day set, we hear the new Gary Burton offering featuring Pat Metheny on guitar. Then the new generation of players like Sean Jones, Mike DiRubbo, and Lauren Sevian.

Ken, I always look forward to your Father's Day show, and this year's playlist was wonderful as ever. My Dad was a huge Horace Silver fan, as am I.

I love the links you've added for purchase sites. This allows for easy reference when trying to find music by that fantastic artist I just heard.

Let me just say this: your tireless efforts have produced a great forum for introducing us to many incredible musicians and music as well. I have become a huge fan of many of the artists that you play; people I'd never heard of before your show. You try to give exposure to artists who deserve to be heard, and by many. I just want to give a big 'THANKS' for what you do for the music...and me!

Thank you Venice. Its one of the nicest comments i've gotten. Notes like this make the time and effort I put into this (and $$) all worthwhile.

Exactly my point...your attempts are truly appreciated!

Ken, once before I suggested a Hammond B3 show, is it possible to do another?
