Old Bop, New Bop

It seems I always keep coming back to bop. I can dig fusion, modern jazz, classic rock and soul. But I always seem to come home to bebop. Here are some of my favorites. I especially dig this new Jackie McLean album I picked up called New Wine in Old Bottles. What a great title. Tonight's show features some of the great old masters, Cannonball, Parker, Jackie, as well as some modern players like Abate, Herring, Alexander.

Hey there! Loved the show, actually I'm just listening to the tail end of it now on my ipod at work. I listened to another couple as I was heading back to Paris on the train yesterday (from Switzlerland). Keep up the good work!

Another great show, Ken. I keep coming back to bop myself, be it bebop, hard-bop or even post-bop! Shamefully, I'd not heard of Jackie McLean before, but I've now earmarked a load of his stuff at eMusic for downloading real soon! Thanks again - Paul.

Listening from the Netherlands.
Thanks for another great show.
It's been a long search for a show that doesn't play all the slick and slimy stuff out there, but it was well worth it.
Cheers - Jan

Bop and hard bop are where it's at for me. This show was fantastic.

Any chance of an Eric Dolphy theme show? Or an all-piano show?
