Jazz on Fire

Featured on this show are modern jazz cats that are on fire. These great artists are building upon the legacy of jazz immortals (Trane, Miles, Coleman) and taken the art form in their own direction. I'd like to note that these great musicians have all recently played in the Hartford/New Haven area recently. Who would ever think that this fair city would become the hotbed of live jazz? Kenny Garret performed here at the Artists Collective last evening. The Artists Collective was founded in 1970 by world renowned alto-saxophonist, composer, educator Jackie McLean offering the highest quality training in the performing arts-dance, theatre, music and visual arts. This podcast is dedicated to Jackie for bringing the best of jazz into Hartford.
