WHUS - IN THE GROOVELand of the Pharoah
No one embodies the spirit of John Coltrane more than Pharoah Sanders. He projects an incredible amount of emotion through the tenor saxophone, and has the ability to coax the most amazing sounds from his horn. I had the honor of attending a live performance of Pharoah Sanders at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston on Friday evening. The Pharoah was in fine form with his quartet. This show features some of Pharoah's most recent recordings. Also, I play a track from Sonny Rollins with Max Roach. It is a tribute to Sonny Rollins on his 77th birthday, and the sad passing of the innovative drummer, Max Roach.

Have you stopped posting both hours of the show?
For the time being, I am just going to publish one hour. Right now, WHUS is having quality issues with its Internet Stream from which I used to record the show. When that is fixed I might go back to 2 hours (in 1 hour segments). Or maybe I'll leave it at one... its a lot less work for me. We'll see.
Whatever works fine for you. One-hour podcasts only is of course way too short, but it's better than having nothing at all.
