Claire Saves the Day
What does a Jazz DJ do when he suddently comes down with laryngitis before going on air? Lukily for me, my partner in life and music is by my side to save the day. This is Claire's first show and its a killer. Part one is songs from our college years, when together we both discovered the awesomeness of jazz and fusion (and each other). Part 2 is comprised of all brand new releases that just hit WHUS shelves in Studio A. These include Michael Brecker's last CD before his passing this year, and Joe Zawinul's WDR Big Band's new renditions of some of his classic composition. THANK YOU Claire.

Terrific show, Claire. Lots of my personal favourites there, too. A question for Ken: why do only the first parts show up in the iTunes directory? I've just discovered that all these wonderful shows have a "Part 2" that hasn't been showing up on iTunes. Is this something you know about, or a bug that can be fixed? Keep playing those great sounds!

I don't know why, perhaps a setting at Ken's side? Anyway, Ken always mentions in his notes that there is a second part too. So I download them both manually...
I only publish part 1 as an rss feed. I would like people to come to the web site and that is one way to get people here. Besides, I think that 1 hour and 40 mb for a weekly podcast is about the right size. For those hard-core jazz fans (and In the Groove fans), who want more, it is available here for download. We get about 6000 downloads of Part 1 for each episode, and about 500 for Part 2.
Hey, I'm a hardcore fan :-)
Thanks, Ken & Claire, for the great music. Thanks also to Claire, you saved the day indeed. Great to hear you two share the same music style preference. I'd wish it was like this at home too...
