Psychedelic 70's

This show celebrates those psychedelic 70's; the years of experimentation. The jazz scene was no exception. This was the birth of fusion, the influence of Indian musical forms, synthisizers and electronics, post production mixing and editing of strange mystical sounds. This music stretched the boundrys of what was considered jazz. The musicians you hear in tonights shows were surely pioneers and their music had a profound effect on the music from that point forward.

ken,

A late post, but a few comments on this show. It really brought back the vibe of the 60's & the 70's..Pharoah, Lonnie Liston, Leon Thomas, Billy Cobham, John, Weather Report, these groups sure gave definition to fusion. I play this 'cast' quite a bit..but without the hit!

'Expand Your Mind'??..I surely did..
