Trane would be 80

If John Coltrane were alive, he would be celebrating his 80th Birthday September 19. So tonight's show is a tribute to Trane's artistry as a composer, incredible tenor sax player, and one who influenced almost every Jazz musician that was to follow.

Hey Ken,

I love your shows, and always make the download my first order of business on Mondays!!

I was very surprised to hear you give 'props' to Outkast for their rendention of 'My Favorite Things'. You indicated you enjoyed the song, and then you describe their names as being 'ridiculous'.

The name is what it is..why ridicule the group like this? If you can appreciate the music, then respect the group name....WHATEVER it is! Your disrespect showed hypocrisy...you like the song, but then you hate their name?? What sense does that make?? What's most important...the music or the title of the group that makes it?

How much music might you be missing because of the artist's name...?? I'm glad your kids exposed you to Outkast in the first place. At least you're open to something new...just respect what you hear...especially if you like it!
