The Future of Jazz
It seems like all the new creative output in jazz comes from Independent artists. It is rare to see a new jazz cat signed by a major (or minor) record label. Makes you wonder if we will ever see another Trane, Miles, Parker or Brubeck, without the promotion or backing of a large record company. New jazz artists now produce and promote themselves. We are grateful here at ITG to receive CD's from new artists and are glad to promote their great musical creations over the airwaves and through our podcast. That is what tonights show is all about.
